The United States of Reparations

On this day, the United States commemorates the Declaration of Independence. However, it is time for this country to create a new declaration – one that involves emotional, spiritual, and financial reparations to descendants of slavery, America’s Original Sin. The time is now – and accomplishing this will truly make July 4th a day of celebration for all. Led by Rev. Kathleen Rolenz.

CVUUS is going on an online road-trip to historic All Souls Church Unitarian in Washington DC for their 4th of July worship service led by their interim minister, the Rev. Kathleen Rolenz.

Rev. Rolenz’s sermon was titled The United States of Reparations and addressed what we need to do to address the nation’s “Original Sin” of slavery to make the 4th of July a holiday we all can celebrate joyfully.
Thanks to those who joined Rev. Barnaby and other CVUUS congregants to share our reactions to this service when it ended at our cvuus zoom coffee hour.
