Universalism – the faith that “all will be saved” – has been present among religious ideas in this country from the earliest days of European settlement. It has always been divisive, sometimes dangerously so. Rev. Tricia Hart begins her five-part series on UU history and theology with stories of how wrestling with universal salvation played a part in US history, and the evolution of our religious tradition. She’ reflects on October’s spiritual focus on cultivating compassion through the filter of Universalism’s roots. This service features our Children’s Choir. We share our offering this month with Outright VT & Middlebury Pride working to lift up our LGBTQIA+ community and celebrating our participation in Midd Pride Parade & Festival on Sat Oct 11.
