UUA General Assembly’s Worship Service (“Flip Flop Sunday”)

Join us for social hour at 10 am in Fellowship Hall FIRST (instead of following worship, so “flip flopped” from our usual routine).  Then, at 11 am, join UU’s from all over the country in viewing the live-streamed worship service for this year’s UUA General Assembly which we will show on our media screen or you can view from home following the link here. No RE this Father’s Day Sunday. Children are welcome to be with us for social hour and the viewing.

A recording of the service will also be available on demand via YouTube shortly after the live broadcast (within a few minutes or even seconds). Check here for updates and technical tips for streaming as the date approaches.

Rev. Jen Youngsun Ryu (she/her) will lead Sunday Morning Worship at GA 2026. She serves the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene, arriving in 2021 while the building was still closed and the congregation was finding its way back to one another. Born in Seoul and raised in Ohio, she found Unitarian Universalism as a young adult in Baltimore and was drawn to a faith that honors both the tough mind and the tender heart.

After years of lay leadership, she entered seminary in 2002, then spent nearly a decade in parish ministry with the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists, alongside service at the district level and on the UUMA Board. Her vocational path later led her into healthcare chaplaincy, where she specialized in oncology care and earned board certification. Working as a staff chaplain in Charleston deepened her pastoral skills and broadened her interest in spiritual care research.

In the wake of the pandemic, Rev. Ryu felt called back to the parish and to the rhythms of a multigenerational community. This year, she celebrates the 20th anniversary of her ordination with a steady conviction that our liberal faith, practiced with honesty and love, changes lives for the good.
