Onsite & Zoom. Join us for our next summer worship service with invited guest Elio Farley facilitated by Ellen Flight. Elio served on the CVUUS Search Team while pursuing a future in ministry. We’ll share our offering plate with ACORN Food Hub. Kids will start and stay in Fenn House for painting rocks with Elizabeth Sylvia.
See our order of service:
Children at Summer Worship: Children are welcome to stay in worship sitting with family members or at our activity table, use our nursery (unstaffed), or accompany a volunteer to Fenn House for a fun activity when these are provided through Aug 30 (and excluding July 5).
Stay for Social Hour in the Ann Ross Fellowship Hall!
NOTE TO ONLINE VIEWERS: Our “ask” to our tech team for summer services is that there be only one person needed to give others a rest. That person will start the Zoom meeting, admit people from the waiting room (since Zoom now requires this), and then run the sound system. There will be no “zoom social hour.”
Recent news from Elio: Hi — Elio here! I just moved to Cambridge, MA and am loving it! I live next to a community garden and am trying to learn the names of my (many) neighbors. I have already begun my graduate classes at Harvard Divinity School, and am taking accelerated Theological Spanish this summer. My full course load will start in September, and I am eagerly awaiting course registration day.
As many know, I am pursuing ordained ministry with the UUA. I am now in Aspirant Status, one of the first official stages of this process. As an aspirant, I can join the UUA’s professional minister networks to access trainings and apply for scholarships.
The exciting news doesn’t end… I was just hired as the Climate Justice Fellow for the UUA! I am part of the Side with Love team (the national organizing strategy team of the UUA) and will support congregations across the country in climate justice work, specifically the Climate Justice Revival and Green Sanctuary efforts. Thank you to the incredible Vermont and Chicago communities of faith and conscious (including CVUUS!) for teaching me literally everything I know about how to organize for justice. Love is a spiritual discipline! A better world absolutely is possible!
