Choosing Hope

Onsite & Zoom. Join us as Rev. Peter Newport returns to our pulpit to reflect on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, martyr and hero of the German resistance to Nazism, and Advent — since it’s the 1st Sunday of that season, and was Bonhoeffer’s topic in much of his later work.

Sharing Our Donation Plate: Food & Housing Crisis Local Providers Due to the impending food crisis caused by the non-renewal of SNAP benefits, a loss of an average of $200/person/month for so many people across the state and nation. CVUUS would like to support our local food pantries (CVOEO’s Feeding Champlain Valley and HOPE food shelves in Middlebury, Bristol’s Have a Heart and Vergennes Community Food Shelf, Charles Ave Community Cupboard) as well as Charter House Coalition serving daily take-out meals and Green Mountain Justice’s coat/sleeping bag project. “Share the plate” donations collected in Nov will be divided among these providers.

Children are welcome to stay in worship sitting with family members or at our activity table or use our nursery (staffed by caregivers upon request). No RE this Sunday.

Stay for Social Hour in the Ann Ross Fellowship Hall!
