Help harvest excess crops from local farms to provide to food shelves. Gleaning was a service project organized by Elizabeth Golden to qualify us as a Green Sanctuary. Below is what a typical gleaning week looks, but please note that this is subject to change. Gleans usually start at 10 am and run for about 3 hours where you can come and go as needed and sometimes take a little home. Rachael Nagy-Benson (Gleaner@hope-vt.org) will let us know about upcoming opportunities. Email her if you want to be directly contacted about upcoming ones. Meanwhile, you can add excess produce you have from your gardens to the CVUUS Produce Cart by our food pantry or bring to food shelves, shelters or Gather.
